Start / Finish Line

The Start / Finish Line for all Surrey International World Music Marathon events is located on University Drive at 102 Avenue. New course map will be coming soon.

The Surrey Central Skytrain Station is located right beside our site. This is the simplest way to get to the marathon without worrying about parking or road closures.

Parking

Parking is available at Central City Shopping Centre on level P4 and P5 [paid parking] in their parkade, which is accessible from University Drive just off Old Yale Road, Surrey. Additional parking is available at surrounding metered street parking.

Weather

A typical late September day in Surrey can be quite magnificent with the days becoming cooler and the landscape becoming vibrant with the changing colors of the trees. You will find very comfortable running temperatures with the averages in September ranging from a high of 19.9 degrees Celsius to a low of 10.8 degrees Celsius. Precipitation is unlikely however it is advised to be prepared in the event of rain.

Information Booths / Lost & Found

An Information Booth will be positioned at the festival site at Central City Plaza to assist you with any race day questions and help you find your way. The Information Booth will also serve as the Race Day Lost & Found. Any valuables found should be turned in to the Information Booth.

Any valuable items NOT claimed by 2 pm on Sunday will be sent to the Customer Service Office at Central City Shopping Centre for pick up during all shopping centre hours. Any items not being claimed after 72 hours will be donated to local charity groups.

Gear Check

Before you enter the start area, drop off your pre-race/post-race clothing and belongings at the Gear Check Tent. Price is $2 with all proceeds going to KidSport, which helps to provide financial assistance for registration fees and equipment to kids aged 18 and under. When you run your gear will be securely stored at Gear Check.

Course Time Limit

The Marathon and Half Marathon Course on Sunday, September 29 will have a time limit of 6 hours with the course opening at 7:00 am for walkers and closing at 1:00 pm. If any walkers or runners are not finished, they can simply move to the sidewalk to complete the course as the roads will reopen.
