The Surrey International World Music Marathon NEEDS YOU!

Not a Runner? Injured? Volunteer!

The Surrey International World Music Marathon is an exciting three-day event, happening September 28th, 29th, and 30th. If you are not a runner but would still like to take part in this inaugural event, we’ve got the perfect fit for you.

The event will host a Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Events, 5K Run and Walk, Kids Run, Cultural Music Miles, and Wellness Expo. All of these events require a great number of dedicated volunteers to ensure their success.

Volunteers can work at the Health and Wellness Expo at SFU Surrey, at the start line surrounded by runners and walkers, along the route being entertained by cultural dance and music, or at Central City Plaza at the Surrey Marathon main stage. We are looking to fill a range of positions including those at aid stations, in communications, at guest services, at the registration table, as course marshals, and more.

The marathon events also require groups of volunteers. Are you a local sports team, community club, or just a group interested in getting involved? If so, why not take over a cheer station or water station? Your group will be handing out water and provisions to runners as they pass along the course, and will be cheering on the participants.

Make a positive contribution to the community alongside friends and family in a bright and colourful environment.

All volunteers will receive a complimentary T-shirt, certificate of participation, and food vouchers. Volunteer orientations will be held early September 2012.

We are also looking for local talent and cultural groups to perform at Central City Plaza and at the cultural miles along the route.

We appreciate your support and look forward to working with you! For more information please contact info@surreymarathon.com or 778-395-3338.

    Hey Stephen!

Even if you do not end up volunteering… come out to cheer on everyone! Plus, you’ll be able to see all the cultural performances that way AND see all the runners. Win-win!
